Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking an engineering consultant to join our Nuclear Vibration team. The consultant would specialize in flow induced vibration, testing, and life estimation. This role can be either full-time or part-time.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical lead developing signal processing and/or analysis methods including authorship of reports.
Demonstrates diverse knowledge of engineering disciplines related to vibration assessments and mitigative strategies, taking full responsibility of these technical aspects of a project.
Provides development and mentoring of staff and team building to meet expanding business and succession needs.
Serves as a technical resource for various hardware and software packages.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
5 years or more of experience in flow induced vibration testing, analysis, and mitigation
Proficient in writing technical reports, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Adept at software/scripting in one or more programming languages
Ability to travel 10% of the time, Spring/Fall, upon request
Desired Skills/Qualifications (any):
Registered Professional Engineer
Ph.D. or Masters’ degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
Programming experience in LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, and/or ANSYS APDL
Advanced knowledge in reactor vessel internals vibration assessments.
Specialty in fatigue and fracture assessments (FEA flaw modeling, transient and/or vibration analysis)
Experience performing ASME Section III Subsection NG evaluations and/or Appendix N
Ability to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA) required.
Loads development for vibration (wind, aerospace, etc.)
Fault Analysis of Rotating Machinery Vibration (Pumps, motors, fans, compressors)
The expected pay rate for this part-time role in is $80 - $115 per hour. Exact pay will be commensurate with location and experience.
