Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) has an immediate need for a Manager, Fracture Mechanics for our Nuclear Analytical Services team.
The Manager will serve as a key member of the Nuclear Business Unit leadership team and will be responsible for providing technical oversight, staff leadership, project management, and staff development for the Fracture Mechanics team within Nuclear Analytical Services. The role requires experience managing a technical product line, including P&L ownership and budgeting responsibility, as well as strong expertise in probabilistic and deterministic fracture mechanics. Technical focus areas also include crack growth evaluations, Leak‑Before‑Break, flaw tolerance methods, flaw handbook development, stress analyses using Finite Element Modeling, and working knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III and Section XI. Participation in the design and repair of pressure vessel and piping components, along with the development and maintenance of engineering software, is also expected.
In this role, team leadership includes serving as a technical authority and industry expert in fracture mechanics while driving business development for key market segments in collaboration with Business Unit leadership and the business development organization. Responsibilities include coordinating team activities and resources, functioning as a Project Manager, and serving as a key technical resource across the organization. Duties may include analysis, design, and detailing of fracture mechanics projects, developing Nuclear Analytical Services and adjacent markets aligned with the candidate’s skillset, supporting proposal development, and identifying research and development opportunities.
The Fracture Mechanics Manager will also be responsible for developing businesses and markets that generate revenue for the Business Unit, including research and development initiatives, new services, and new market opportunities, and will have staff management responsibilities including goal setting, mentoring, performance leadership, and hiring.

Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this role is $146,880 to $183,600 in San Jose, CA; $117,600 to $147,000 in Denver, CO; and $109,120 to $136,400 in Charlotte, NC. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience and location.

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers, analysts, and consultants in delivering probabilistic and deterministic fracture mechanics services under Nuclear Analytical Services for domestic and international clients
- Provide technical leadership, staff development, and mentorship for the Fracture Mechanics team
- Develop prioritized lists of prospective clients and organize and conduct presentations to individual clients and client groups
- Manage client relationships and ensure project milestones and deliverables are met
- Collaborate with other technical discipline areas within SIA to develop integrated, turnkey, and innovative solutions for nuclear clients
- Develop short‑ and long‑term strategic plans for fracture mechanics services, including research and development initiatives, hiring strategies, new markets, and business development activities
- Manage the Fracture Mechanics P&L and support budget development and planning processes
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- MS in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field
- PhD and/or MBA preferred
- 12+ years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years of project management experience
- Management of a technical product line, including P&L and budgeting responsibility
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Probabilistic and deterministic fracture mechanics evaluations, including fatigue crack growth, stress corrosion cracking, Leak‑Before‑Break, flaw tolerance, and flaw handbooks
- Stress and fracture mechanics analyses using Finite Element Modeling using ANSYS and Abaqus
- ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III and Section XI
- Develop/maintain engineering software that includes probabilistic and fracture mechanics codes
- Nuclear plant licensing regulations, guides, codes, and standards, in addition to industry guidelines
- Technical and administrative management of projects within the nuclear analytical services area
- Proficient in writing and reviewing technical reports and proposals, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 20% or more, upon request
