Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support our Nuclear Business Unit in our San Jose, CA or Centennial, CO office. SIA is an established industry leader in the power generation industry, providing engineering services to electric utilities worldwide.
The engineer in this role will join the Fatigue Management group, which specializes in the management of metal fatigue in power plant components and systems. The engineer will support various projects within the group and perform tasks under the supervision of senior-level engineers. Tasks include fatigue analysis, stress analyses, software design, development and testing, and analysis of power plant operation. The engineer will participate in project team meetings, both internally and externally with clients. Some travel may be required.
The work environment is team based and varies depending on the requirements of each project. Each project team is led by an industry expert and composed of engineers from various engineering disciplines. Day-to-day activities will be a combination of independent tasks and collaboration with team members.
This position provides an entry-level engineer with the opportunity to build upon the engineering fundamentals learned in college and apply that knowledge to real-world applications. This position provides the opportunity for career growth within the company.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- Programming experience in one or more programming languages
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to successfully work independently and in collaboration with team members
- Ability to manage tasks for multiple projects and adjust to shifting priorities
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Visual Basic and C#
- Software testing experience
- Knowledge of ANSYS or another Finite Element software
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam with plans to pursue Professional Engineering (PE) certification, if not already certified
