Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a senior-level engineering consultant for our Nuclear business unit. The position will be based remotely or in one of our main offices: San Jose, CA; Centennial, CO, or Huntersville, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engineering consulting work supporting the energy industry. The role will be to support project teams in the areas of fracture mechanics and related fields.
The work environment is a dynamic team based on project requirements. Each project team is usually led by an industry expert and composed of engineers from various engineering disciplines to perform projects that range from fracture mechanics evaluations, fatigue crack growth, stress corrosion cracking, leak-before-break, flaw tolerance, flaw handbooks, stress analyses.
Primary Responsibilities:
Probabilistic analysis
Fracture mechanics and stress analyses
Crack stress intensity factor calculations using closed form solutions
Crack acceptability, crack growth, and allowable crack size determinations
Participation in design and repair projects of pressure vessel/piping components
Develop/maintain engineering software
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or similar discipline
12-15+ years of related engineering experience with MS degree (10-13+ years with PhD)
Basic knowledge of statistics
Knowledge of programming
Linear-elastic and elastic-plastic fracture mechanics course work
Proficient in writing technical reports and communication skills
Ability to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access Authorization (UAA)
Bonus Skills/Qualifications:
PhD degree in Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or similar discipline
Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics (PFM) experience
Experience in object-oriented programming languages such as C#
The expected salary range for this role in Centennial, CO is $95,200 to $198,480 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience and location.
