Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking an experienced candidate for structural design/analysis with emphasis on practical design, earthquake engineering, and structural dynamics. The hired candidate will be joining a multi-disciplinary team of engineers serving clients in a diverse set of projects and industries.
This position will be based in our Sacramento office, however other California locations and remote locations can be considered.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project manager, task manager, or technical lead on mid-size to major projects.
Develop project specific criteria, technical approach, scope of work, and best practices to effectively deliver projects.
At project initiation, develop design concepts and create design/analysis briefs.
Oversee project technical execution, provide in-house review of analysis models, and verify analysis and design results against basic structural theory and code compliance.
Actively maintain project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
Author technical reports, and present at in-house or external client/peer review meetings.
Assist in project proposals through development of the technical approach, scope of work, and budget/schedules estimates.
Mentor and train junior staff.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer licensure, CA preferred.
15+ years of industry experience.
Excellent technical writing and verbal communications skills.
Strong structural and seismic design/analysis technical skills for a wide range of structure types.
Extensive knowledge of transportation and building codes.
Proficiency in advanced structural analysis software (e.g. ADINA, CSiBridge, MIDAS, LS-DYNA, and similar)
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Senior or Principal level experience and design/analysis expertise in a wide range of multi-disciplinary structure types, including new or retrofit bridges, buildings, tunnels, tanks, and underground structures.
Extensive experience using state-of-practice techniques and advanced linear and non-linear finite element analysis.
Well versed in transportation criteria and building codes including AASHTO LRFD, Caltrans Seismic Design Criteria, as well as High Speed Rail Criteria, the California Building Code, ASCE7, ACI318, and/or AISC360/341.
Strong planning/organizational skills.
Highly motivated and welcome to new challenges.
The expected salary range for this role in Sacramento, CA is $111,280 - $166,920 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
