We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Vibration Engineer Analyst to join our expert team. This position provides the opportunity to work across multiple industries—Nuclear, Renewables and other Power Generation—while developing key engineering skills. You will collaborate with talented engineers and contribute to a diverse range of projects, from vibration analysis and fatigue assessment to structural dynamics and flow-induced vibration studies. If you are passionate about solving complex engineering problems and eager to grow alongside a supportive team, this is the role for you.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform structural dynamics analysis (linear and non-linear) using finite element analysis software such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
Analyze power plant components (e.g., pressure vessels, piping systems, machinery, structures) using both classical and numerical methods.
Assess vibration data from mechanical and structural systems, diagnosing issues, and developing innovative solutions.
Design and execute vibration testing programs (under senior member supervision), including instrumentation setup, data acquisition, and analysis.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of in-house vibration testing tools and software.
Participate in business development by identifying project opportunities and providing technical insights.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Analysis, or a related field (e.g., Civil Engineering).
Experience or coursework in dynamic systems analysis, vibration testing, or failure analysis.
Proficiency in FEA for mechanical structures, acoustics, and dynamics analysis.
Strong analytical skills, with experience using tools like MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and contribute to technical reports.
A team-player mindset, with the ability to manage individual tasks while collaborating with diverse project teams.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical or structural vibration issues.
Familiarity with industrial sensors (accelerometers, strain gauges, proximity probes, etc.).
Experience with data processing tools like MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar platforms.
Working knowledge of ASME Codes or PVP experience (Sections III, VIII, O&M Guidelines).
Knowledge of fracture mechanics and fatigue analysis, particularly in both linear-elastic and elastic-plastic regimes.
Experience managing engineering projects, including scheduling and budgeting.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or intent to pursue Professional Engineering (PE) certification.
Willingness to travel up to 20% based on project requirements.
Advanced degree in vibration/dynamics – compensation will align with experience.
The expected salary range for this role in State College, PA is $54,320 to $81,480 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
