Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) has an opening for an early career Engineering Program Manager.
The Program Manager will lead qualification projects for blast, wind, and seismic loading on mechanical and electrical equipment and other non-structural components (learn more at http://trucompliance.com/). They will assist the company’s clients in obtaining International Building Code (or other relevant standard) product certification based on analysis and/or testing under the supervision of a licensed structural engineer. The Manager may also have the opportunity to participate in engineering analysis and design with other divisions of the company in nuclear, healthcare, dams and waterways, defense, and protective/blast practice areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee certification programs including full-scale shake table testing of equipment (including travel to labs)
- Direct client interactions
- Prepare quotes and proposals for clients
- Develop reports and supporting documentation for IBC seismic and wind compliance
- Review product information provided by manufacturers to understand product variations
- Coordinate and delegate project tasks to Certification Engineers
- Coordinate and schedule laboratory testing
- Manage project budgets, expenses, and schedules
- Evaluate non-standard structural members and equipment components
- Structural analysis of equipment and nonstructural systems for wind and seismic loading
- Design anchorage for nonstructural components
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in relevant industries
- BS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Demonstrated academic or professional experience using hand calculations and/or structural analysis computer software to calculate demands and capacities of structural systems
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel (up to 20% of time)
Desired:
- MS/MEng in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university
- Licensed professional engineer in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, LS-DYNA, Matlab, Mathcad, AutoCAD/Revit, Solidworks or other similar software
- Computer programming skills related to database construction and querying, signal processing, or task automation
- Knowledge of seismic analysis, code-based steel and concrete design, blast analysis, nonlinear structural analysis
The expected salary range for this role in Bend, OR is $64,800 - 111,100 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
