The Pipeline Integrity Engineering Consultant is an authoritative industry-recognized technical leader with creativity and substantial engineering experience who is capable of significantly impacting commercial activities for the Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions team and Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA). The position will be expected to lead Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions projects and client engagements that include program development, management, and implementation in various technically diverse areas. Additionally, this position will be responsible for supporting marketing and business development activities in support of new and existing offerings and ultimately drive additional revenue to the organization.

The safe, environmentally responsible operation of our nation’s pipelines has always been our priority. Pipeline operators employ comprehensive integrity management programs to prevent failures of the pipeline system due to causes such as corrosion, manufacturing defects, excavation damage, or other causes. SIA works with these natural gas and hazardous liquid pipeline operators to assist in implementation and improvement of integrity management programs. We continually expand our technical expertise through the active participation in standards development and other regulatory forums. Role Expectations:
  • Provides consulting services to Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions clients focused on integrity management.
  • Responsible for the generation and management of consulting project revenue through maintaining relationships with current and prospective clients and technical leadership in the industry.
  • Active member of the Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions leadership team in developing short- and long-term strategic plans and objectives.
  • Implements strategies, processes, and policies to meet Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions and SIA objectives.
  • Exhibits entrepreneurism through the identification of new consulting opportunities and the execution of business strategies including offerings, technologies, products, resourcing, and pricing.
  • Recognized as an authoritative leader in respective technical area(s) within the Oil & Gas Pipeline Integrity and Regulatory Compliance industry.
  • Provides development and mentoring of staff to meet expanding business and succession needs.
  • Provides team building and technical integration for the Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions team and SIA.
  • SIA strives to be known for unmatched quality of our services and deliverables. Attention to detail and willingness to receive and act on constructive feedback are required.
  • Implements strategies, processes, and policies to meet Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions and SIA objectives.
  • Demonstrates project management skills and implements those skills to ensure the profitable execution of projects.
  • All work will be thoroughly documented in a report. Technical writing skills are required.
  • Effective communication skills are required. The candidate will be expected to communicate project status and results with clients.
  • Travel may be required for some projects. Travel percent is expected to be 40% or less.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 20+ years of experience solving challenging engineering problems preferably with a pipeline operator, consulting firm or major service provider supporting integrity management, regulatory compliance, and/or pipeline engineering to the oil and gas pipeline industry.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry consensus standards such as API 5L, API 579, and ASME B31.4 / 31.8 / 31.8S.
  • Knowledge of integrity management provisions of 49CFR Parts 192 and/or 195 as well as applicable industry standards, tools and techniques Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task on different projects at different levels in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering consulting projects (scope, schedule, budget).
  • Demonstrated consulting skills (client interactions, problem scoping and solving).
  • Open and flexible approach to work environment and job responsibilities.
  • BS or MS degree in a technical/engineering area that is consistent with the Pipeline Integrity Compliance Solutions market and SIA offerings and services.

Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this role in Denver, CO is $175,860 to $214,940 STATE annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
